Possibly something gets lost in translation but people in Madrid last week were eating "Rosquillas Listas" and "Rosquillas Tontas" which translate as smart/clever doughnuts and stupid/silly doughnuts. I think a clear class divide was established against Greggs many years ago but I do not approve of that class divide, give me Greggs over Starbucks any day. I did used to prefer Greggs rival Crawfords but sadly they are no more, can you shed any light on the demise of the former makers of fine Empire biscuits et al?
... also the man on the right with the yellow doughnut is eating the "Clever doughnut" (with colourful icing/fondant) and the man on the left is eating the "Silly doughnut" (containing aniseed) .....
