e-tiquete (not to be confused with an e-ticket)

If in online and cyber circles UPPER CASE is considered to be SHOUTING is lower case considered to be whispering?  Whilst we have all schools of typers those who touch type (with both hands and use all 9 fingers correctly, leave 2 spaces at the end of sentences and generally are grammatically inteligable) , speed dual digitists (those who use 2 fingers but are quite fast and accurate - often Technocrats), Single digit letter hunters (often still surprised that the keyboard is arranged QWERTY and not abcde) and all manner of typers in-between.

These are merely the means of inputting the text but what text are we inputting?  I am bewildered why many shun the pun in favour of text language abreviations which would be mocked in verbal usage, if your mate said "that story made me LOL!" would you be laughing? Maybe at the tragedy to your ears.  Why also are we given a barrage of oh so clever use of punctation? Do I want the comment finished with ;-)?  I think not, for this read a wink is not as good as a nod.  Instead of this inanity ad infinitum why not pun it up with :ic or ,ndo?  Far more creative but ultimately would be as dull as the aforementioned.

Culinary advice of the day: could we encourage more Scots (me included) to eat more veg by the widespread use of Tempura style cooking?  The batter had me eating some green stuff I probably would have given the knife slide to have otherwise.

Crumble related annecdote

A mate of mine said every Sunday he would visit his mother-in-law and without fail every week they would be served a roast dinner and crumble.  All good so far. The twist comes when the crumble filling would be varied on a weekly basis and it would appear mostly from what tins were lurking at the back of his mother-in-law´s pantry* i.e. peach crumble, pear crumble, mandarin crumble, fruit cocktail crumble and only occasionally having recognised favourites such as apple or rhubarb.

*in this instance the food storing cupboard is referred to as a pantry in this annecdote denoting its absence of desirable food.  Had the fillings been epicurean delights the cupboard may well have been referred to as a larder.  Should you have any opinions on this matter of naming please add your comments.

Hiatus

Was unable to add more delights to the esteemed blog due to self enforced solitary confinement and hard labour.  My thoughts on the previous days are thus:
  • painting is for drips
  • wet grass clogs lawnmowers
  • DIY is even less of an attractive proposition at 4am
  • 5 minute jobs often take 3 hours
  • caulking can be baulking
  • always allow lots of time to get to an airport
  • satin paint didn´t look as good as gloss
I shall bore no more on that topic.

Fruit cocktail and crumble don´t mix.

QWERTY

The swift fox jumped over the lazy dog.

Inspiration may be on the wane today.

Crumble mix makes great shortbread.

What a pants survey

I added a poll, but it is pants as the question is not displayed. I will take that down shortly, as it looks bobbins.

That sounds like

Whilst supervising my son´s watching of children´s TV I noticed the theme tune to the Koala Brothers <this link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX8HqXspWqo > sounds a lot like a song I heard on the radio a bit, I did research and found it was the tune "Dance to Joy Division" by The Wombats <click here to listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCf84ov2MZ4 >.  Does anyone agree?  The version of the Koala Bros theme on Youtube isn´t that good.  I am not sure which came first.  Surely there is scope for a remix Koala Bros vs The Wombats, note the link between the two which is antipodean animals.  I remember when I was young I was mega impressed when the drummer from Iron Maiden appeared on the Sooty Show <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnE_8oeDj88> (I like the fact that the Youtube poster of this clip got it on a video tape in a charity shop in Kilburn for 49p - the only thing I ever bought on a blank video tape from a charity shop was some well pony WWF wrestling!).  Anyway any other sound alikes out there?

Crumble should always out ratio any fruit in a pudding.

Primero

Just creating the first of possibly many musings.  Not sure if this will be a replacement for my millitant stance of non-use of popular social networking sites.  As I check out what I need to do or can do to make this more interesting, I will do so.  For now here is a start.  I plan to put in anecdotal evidence or witty, unusual or notable occurrances.

Crumble is good but can be ruined by being too healthy.
